Diversity of organic vegetables from the Waldviertel

Since 1998, ReinSaat has been providing an extensive offer of varieties for commercial horticulture and domestic gardens which are adapted to the requirements of organic farming. In particular, we are committed to combine quality which is reflected in appearance, taste and aroma with reliable yields.

Our over 30 propagation companies are located in different climatic zones in Austria and its neighbouring countries. An important main focus our work is the development of regionally adapted open-pollinated varieties, thus improving the plant health and facilitating the coordination of the harvest time for the growers.

Diversity and the outstanding quality of the open-pollinated seed varieties are the result of many years of responsible maintenance breeding. For this purpose, ReinSaat permanently exchanges information with other breeders, similarly structured seed companies and organisations.

Together with propagation farms from all over Austria as well as European partners from the EU neighbouring companies - all of which are recognized organic farms –ReinSaat focuses on the GMO-free seed propagation and sustainable development of the offered diversity of varieties.

The networking of European organic seed producers is underlined in particular by the collaboration with Kultursaat e.V. Since 2013, ReinSaat has also been propagating vegetable varieties of Kultursaat e.V. This ensures that valuable seed potential is preserved. Robust varieties will also in future provide commercial and amateur gardeners with healthy and tasty vegetable varieties.
