Perilla annual, red to purple-colored spice plant with healthy, strong (approx. 70 cm) growth. In terms of taste, Perilla is reminiscent of coriander, parsley and mint with a slightly bitter note. The heavily toothed leaves are used raw in Asian cuisine for sushi and pesto. Crunchy seeds give salads a spicy-sharp note.
