Mullein, black

Biennial native wild shrub with diverse medicinal usage. In the first year the plant forms a strong rosette of leaves and in the following year impressive, mostly unbranched, up to 120 cm high flower spikes. Numerous yellow individual flowers with a reddish center and purple stamens give the plant a particularly interesting appearance. Requared sunny location with well drained soil. Blossoming period in the second year from June to September.
